What We Do With Your Postcards >> |
|
We fully appreciate the postcards we now receive from people
all over the world. We wanted a basic website that was very
easy to use and understandable for any age of visitor. The
donation of postcards dropping through our letter box means
means we can be self supportive without desperately depending
on funding through mass adverts. It is worth stating that we
keep our postcards and not just copy the images, this is
therefore creating a museum for the UK accessible to everyone
throughout the World via our Online Galleries.
A breakdown of a package arriving is as
follows: Gallery postcards are taken out and saved to go on our
Galleries for everyone to enjoy, any Doubles or unneeded postcards
are swapped or sold to purchase further postcards, Any remaining
postcards are given to charity
shops, with poorer quality ones going to the Recycling Bank.
As well as postcards we also receive books, photos, negatives and out
of date holiday brochures which helps our research.
Every single nostalgic item may be of some use as we have to start somewhere, I remember
a holiday camp where there was only a picture of the netball
post in the sports field, but eventually building images came
in as they were mass produced so more were sent and they are
the ones easier to find, it
really is about everyone sending what they can and eventually
we are building each Gallery.
Anyway that's enough begging, so please get in your drawers and
lofts, down to the post box and
post to:

We would like to say a big thank you to all the many people
that contribute to this website. We do not mention everyone
that donates or contributes but if you would like an
acknowledgement then please include your name and
town/village/city in the package, if you are a company and
would like a link then we are happy to participate providing
your website has content that is suitable for all age groups.
